[8 Sep 2010] In the late 1990s, the University of Gothenburg considered cancelling its Dutch language studies. This is no longer the case. After ten years in the freezer, Gothenburg students can once again earn a bachelor¿s degree in Dutch. Moreover, starting in the autumn of 2011, Dutch will be included in the Professional Translation Programme.
[6 Sep 2010] Sweden hosted a ministerial meeting on the Baltic Sea environment on 25 August. Ministers and high-ranking representatives from all the Baltic Sea states attended the seminar, "Building marine policy on best available knowledge", which was arranged by the Swedish Institute for the Marine Environment at Rosenbad in Stockholm. The meeting was the first to take place under the Swedish chairmanship of the Baltic Sea cooperation body HELCOM, the Helsinki Commission for the protection of the Baltic Marine Environment.
[31 Aug 2010] Sweden's zebrafish researchers and some of the world's foremost experts within zebrafish research will be meeting this week for the first national meeting on the subject of these animals and how they can be used in research to find out more about human health and illness. The meeting will take place 1-3 September in Fiskebäckskil at the Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences.
