Despite more than half a century having passed since the death of jazz singer Billie Holiday at just 44 years of age, her voice is still very much alive. Her singular phrasing and personal interpretation of lyrics is still fascinating today. Moreover, she was joint composer of several jazz standards including God Bless the Child and Fine and Mellow. Here we can enjoy music that is strongly associated with Billie Holiday, as performed in their own style by students from the improvisation programme.
