The innovation system surrounding at the University includes everything from courses in entrepreneurship and business advice to networks and holding companies. The Research and Innovation Service at the University of Gothenburg is there to make it easier for you to find the right place for your innovation or collaboration idea.
Researchers and students who wish to find commercial applications for their research findings need support and resources. The Research and Innovation Service is the unit at the University that has the task of supporting the commercial application of ideas and research findings from the University.
The University of Gothenburg works with skilled advisers who help researchers onto the market. The offer to researchers consists of an active involvement in business development, patent strategies, financing and assistance in developing the companies that are created in the University’s research environment.
Among other things, the Research and Innovation Service works in conjunction with the University’s holding company, GU holding, which is an active shareholder in several companies with origins in research. GUHolding’s operation is business-oriented and must therefore make a profit. The profits make it possible to reinvest in and expand various activities, for example, starting up new companies.
