The University’s contacts with commerce and industry range from patents and commercial applications of research findings to a high degree of cooperation with municipal organisations and business life, including practical training and field work for students.

Besides the work among research groups at the University who daily collaborate with industry, the department Research and innovation service at thr University initiate and develop co operations with external actors - Partnerships with mutual benefits. A selection of collaboration activities

The activities in several of the University’s research centres are largely based on contacts with industry. One example is in the areas of medicine, where bio-materials, bio-technology, the environment and economics, including many strategic research programmes and the bio-medical research centre, work together in GöteborgBIO

The University takes an active part in the commercial application of research findings through its own holding company , where a total of some ten project companies have been launched, and by identifying and verifying early innovation and business opportunities and support the development of ideas by a innovation counsellor

By joint projects in form of thesis and practical training students collaborate with the local industry including small firms, and experience mutual benefits. Göteborg University admission this partly by the tool: Nationella Exjobb-poolen.

The School of Economics and Commercial Law at Göteborg University, has set up a special Partnership Program  with companies and administrative bodies. This programme includes interaction such as executive seminars, company presentations, multi-disciplinary research and career services.
