STEFAN AMBEC
Born: 1970
Title of doctoral thesis: Essays in Economics of Contracts and Institutions
Stefan Ambec was born in Béziers, France. In 1992 he graduated from Université de Toulouse with a master’s degree in Econometrics, and in 1999 he obtained a doctorate from the University of Montreal, Canada. He is currently a researcher at the Toulouse School of Economics and a member of LERNA, a centre for research on environmental economics and natural resources, where he is also in charge of the second-cycle programme in this field. His research is centred on the economic relevance of environmental regulations, especially with respect to fairness and business strategies. In 2010 he was appointed Visiting Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics.
Bagchi-Sen Sharmistha
SHARMISTHA BAGCHI-SEN
In 2001 Sharmistha Bagchi-Sen was appointed Professor at the Department of Geography at the State University of New York at Buffalo in USA, and in 2010 she became Department Chair. From 2009 to 2010 she co-directed the Institute for Research and Education on Women and Gender. Her research is focused on urban and regional analysis, international trade, high technology and regional innovation, biotechnology and the pharmaceutical sector, labour and societal impacts of information technology, and the labour market and the ageing workforce. She is on the editorial boards of several journals and has worked as editor of The Professional Geographer. Since 2010 she is a Visiting Professor of Industrial Economics, Leadership and Geography at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
Bergström Ola
OLA BERGSTRÖM

Title of doctoral thesis: Att passa in – rekryteringsarbete i ett kunskapsintensivt företag
Ola Bergström was born in Falköping, Sweden, and earned a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg, in 1991. He obtained his doctorate in 1998 and became Associate professor in Business Administration in 2006. During parts of 2007 and 2009, Bergström worked as a visiting professor at Institute d’Administration des Enterprises, Université Paris 1, Pantheon-Sorbonne, Paris. On 13 December 2010 he was appointed Professor in Business Administration at the Department of Business Administration.
Browne Michael
MICHAEL BROWNE
Michael Browne directs freight transport and logistics research at the University of Westminster. Recent projects include potential benefits from improved city logistics strategies, research on energy use and future trends in logistics. He has conducted numerous studies, including for Transport for London, the European Commission, the UK Department for Transport, the UK research councils and commercial organisations. He is a member of several external committees and boards, and chairs the Central London Freight Quality Partnership. He is the Associate Editor of the journal Transport Reviews and is on the editorial boards of The Journal of International Logistics, Research and Applications, Supply Chain Forum, International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics and Recherche Transports Sécurité. Since 2011 he is appointed Visiting Professor of Logistics and Transport at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
Cullinane Kevin
KEVIN CULLINANE
Professor Kevin Cullinane is Director of the Transport Research Institute and Professor of International Logistics at Edinburgh Napier University. He was formerly Chair of Marine Transport & Management at Newcastle University and Professor and Head of the Department of Shipping & Transport Logistics at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport, and has been a logistics adviser to the World Bank and transport adviser to the governments of Scotland, Ireland, Hong Kong, Egypt, Chile, Korea and the U.K.
Eriksson Zetterquist Ulla
ULLA ERIKSSON-ZETTERQUIST

Title of doctoral thesis: Det mangranna sällskapet – om konstruktion av kön i företag
Ulla Eriksson-Zetterquist was born in Sundsvall, Sweden, and earned a Master of Science in Business and Economics in 1991 and a doctorate in 2000 from the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg. She held Malmsten’s post-doc position 2002–2006 and was appointed Docent at the Gothenburg Research Institute (GRI) in 2007. Her research concerns organising, particularly related to gender, intersectionality and technology. In 2005 she worked as a visiting researcher at the department of sociology at the university in Trento, Italy, and in 2010 she served as a visiting researcher at Scancor, Stanford University, USA. In December 2010 she was appointed Professor of Business Administration at GRI.
Fellman Susanna
SUSANNA FELLMAN

Title of doctoral thesis: Uppkomsten av en direktörsprofession – Industriledarnas utbildning och karriär i Finland 1900–1975
Susanna Fellman was born in Grankulla, Finland, and earned a Master of Science in Political Sciences at the University of Helsinki in 1989. She obtained her doctorate in Economic History and Social History in 2001 before being appointed Docent (Reader) the following year. Most of her career, Fellman has served as a researcher and Professor of Economic History at the University of Helsinki. On 1 January she was appointed Professor of Economic History at the Department of Economic History. The Professorship is funded by the Torsten and Ragnar Söderberg Foundations.
Herzel Stefano
STEFANO HERZE
Born: 1965
Title of doctoral thesis: Two Problems in Option Pricing
Stefano Herzel was born in Rome. He graduated from the faculty of mathematics at Sapienza – Università di Roma – in 1989 and earned his doctoral degree from Cornell University in 1997. He went on to become a faculty member at the University of Perugia and at Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata. His research areas include Quantitative Finance and Sustainable Investment. Since 2010 Herzel is a Visiting Professor in Mathematical Finance at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
Kocher Martin
MARTIN KOCHER
Martin Kocher earned his doctorate from the University of Innsbruck, where he also worked from 2002 to 2005. After leaving Innsbruck, he worked at the University of Amsterdam 2005-2007, at the University of Munich 2007-2010 and at the University of East Anglia in 2010. In 2011 he was appointed Chair of Behavioural and Experimental Economics at the University of Munich. He has published articles in a large number of economics journals, and works as Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Psychology. He is a Fellow of the National Centre for Econometric Research in Australia and Deputy Director of the social science lab Melessa at Munich. Martin has served as adviser to the German Federal Ministry of Finance and the Government of Liechtenstein. His research concerns, among other things, how different institutions affect the economic behaviour of individuals and groups/teams. In October 2010 he was appointed Visiting Professor in Behavioural and Experimental Economics at the Department of Economics.

Title of doctoral thesis: Perspectives on Knowledge and Growth
Ola Olsson was born in Uddevalla, Sweden, and earned a Master of Science in Political Science from the University of Gothenburg in 1996. He obtained his doctorate in Economics in 2000 and was appointed Docent in 2005. His research primarily concerns long-term economic development and the importance of natural resources for conflicts and social development in Africa. In the autumn of 2010 he was invited to the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University as a visiting researcher. On 8 February 2010 he was appointed Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics.
Park Sang-Chul

Title of doctoral thesis: The Technopolis Plan in Japanese Industrial Policy
Sang-Chul Park was born in Seoul, Korea, and earned his first doctorate from Justus Liebig University Giessen, Germany, in 1993. In 1997 he earned a second doctorate at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg, where he also served as Docent (Reader) 2001-2003. He then became Docent at Okayama University, Japan, 2003-2006 and at Justus Liebig University 2003-2009. From 2008 to 2009 he worked as a visiting professor at the Seoul National University. His research concerns regional development, innovation systems, innovative clusters, and, more recently, strategies for energy, the environment and sustainable development as well as international trade. In addition, he also frequently serves as a political adviser. On 1 January 2010 he was appointed Visiting Professor in International Business at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
Pennings Frans
FRANS PENNINGS

Title of doctoral thesis: Benefits of Doubt. A comparative study of the legal aspects of employment and unemployment schemes in Great-Britain, Germany, France and the Netherlands (Kluwer Law International 1990)
Frans Pennings was born in the Netherlands, and studied Dutch literature and linguistics and Dutch law at Utrecht University. In 1990 he earned his doctorate after completing his doctoral thesis on a comparison of unemployment and employment schemes . Since then, Pennings has served as Docent ( assistant and associate professor) and Professor of Comparative Social Security at Tilburg University. In 2008 he was appointed Professor at Utrecht University, and he has authored more than 30 books on various topics of labour law and social security law. He has also written more than 100 articles and book chapters, and is co-editor of the journals Tijdschrift recht en arbeid and European Journal of Social Security.
Pennings is the head of the Department of International and European Law at Utrecht University and member of the board of the Europa Institute of this university . He is appointed Visiting Professor of International Labour and Social Security Law at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
Rickne Annika
ANNIKA RICKNE
Born: 1966
Title of doctoral thesis: New Technology-Based Firms and Industrial Dynamics
Annika Rickne was born in Örebro, Sweden, and has a Master of Science in Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology. She also earned her doctorate from Chalmers in 2000. In 2005 she was appointed Docent (Reader) at Lund University. Rickne’s research is centred around how new scientific and technological knowledge can reshape existing knowledge fields and industries and lead to the development of new products and sectors. Since 2010 she is a professor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Skog Rolf
ROLF SKOG
Born: 1954
Rolf Skog has spent over 30 years at the Swedish Government Offices and has held positions such as Secretary to the Swedish Company Law Committee. He represents Sweden in negotiations on company and financial law in the EU and OECD. He is also Executive Director of the Swedish Securities Council. From 2000 to 2010 he was Adjunct Professor at the Aarhus School of Business in Denmark, and in 2006 he was a Visiting Professor at the Columbia Law School, New York. On 1 September 2010 he was appointed Adjunct Professor of Company and Financial Law at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg.
Stigson Björn
BJÖRN STIGSON
Born: 1946
Björn Stigson was born in Kalmar, Sweden, and graduated from the School of Business, Economics and Law in 1969 and from Harvard Business School in 1981. He has been actively involved in global companies, including ESAB, Fläkt and ABB, for more than 25 years. Since 1995 Stigson has been President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development in Geneva, an association of about 200 global companies engaged in sustainable development. He is also involved in several international boards and committees, and serves as advisor to the Chinese and German governments and the U.S. Congress. Since 4 May 2010 he holds the Assar Gabrielsson visiting professorship in Applied Corporate Management at the School of Business, Economics and Law, University of Gothenburg.
URBAIN JEAN-PIERRE
JEAN-PIERRE URBAIN

Title of doctoral thesis: Exogeneity in Error Correction Models
Jean-Pierre Urbain was born in Verviers, Belgium, and obtained his doctorate in 1992 from the University of Liège. His doctoral thesis was awarded by Société Royale Belge d'Economie Politique. Also in 1992, he became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Maastricht University, where he now holds a position as Professor of Time Series Econometrics. From 2007 to 2010 he headed the department of quantitative economics. His research is centred on time series econometrics, especially non-stationary time series and panel data. He has published articles in for example Journal of Econometrics, Econometric Theory, Journal of Applied Econometrics and Journal of Time Series Analysis. Since the January 2011 he is a Visiting Professor of Econometrics at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
Wennberg Ann-Marie
ANN-MARIE WENNBERG
Born: 1956
Title of doctoral thesis: Basal cell carcinoma–new aspects of diagnosis and treatment
Ann-Marie Wennberg was born in Gothenburg and obtained a Master of Science in Medicine at the University of Gothenburg in 1984 and then became a specialist in Dermato-Venereology. She earned her doctorate at the Faculty of Medicine in 1999 and became Docent (Reader) in 2005. She heads a research group with a focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, and since 2009 she is the Director of Area 2 at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital. On 1 April 2010 she was appointed Adjunct Professor at the Institute of Clinical Sciences.
Whittington Dale
DALE WHITTINGTON
Dale Whittington is Professor of Environmental Science and Environmental Engineering and of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since 2007 he is also Professor at the Manchester Business School. His research is focused on water resource issues in developing countries, including in the Nile delta and as part of the World Bank group focusing on the Ganges basin. He has served as a resource person for three global environmental economics networks: the Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA), the Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Economics Program (LACEEP) and the Center for Environmental Economics and Policy in Africa (CEEPA), and is a member of the technical committee at the Global Water Partnership. In addition, he co-authored the book Expert Advice for Policy Choice from 1997. In the autumn of 2010 he was appointed Professor of Environmental Economics at the School of Business, Economics and Law.
