University of Gothenburg is annually allocated funds from the Adlerbert Foundations to distribute as scholarships to students on programmes, grants to researchers as well as assistance funding for visiting students:

Adlerbert Research Foundation

Research grants can be awarded to anyone who is pursuing scientific research at the University of Gothenburg.

It is the Foundation’s intention to continue supporting research (and artistic endeavours) in Gothenburg and West Sweden that can lead to a fundamental renewal of society’s perception of its responsibility and development and that can improve conditions for human life and happiness. This entails giving a high priority to research that promotes increased knowledge of circumstances which maintain and improve living conditions for human beings within the framework of an overall ecological perspective.

Adlerbert Foreign Student Hospitality Foundation

Entitled to apply are the foreign visiting students within undergraduate programmes or postgraduate studies at University of Gothenburg who intend to return to their native countries after completed studies. The extent of the studies at University of Gothenburg should be at least three months. Foreign students who recieve Swedish study loan and/or have a permanent residence permit in Sweden are not entitled to apply.

Students registrated at a department belonging to Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Business, Economics and Law apply for assistance funding at the the Göta student union, Götabergsgatan 17. The application should be handed in personally in the early part of the year.
