Placement abroad for female students: The WiTec-placement programme
Malmö University, the Royal Institute of Technology, the University of Borås and the University of Gothenburg are announcing funding for Erasmus placements abroad within the WiTec-consortia for the academic year 2011/2012.
The WiTec-consortia addresses female students in the fields of technology, science and IT. Each university gives priority to certain study programmes within these fields.
The WiTec-placement programme offers:
- Fulltime placement for 3-10 months (the placement has to end no later than September 30th 2012)
- 500€/month (4600 SEK /month)
- Same rules and regulations as for the
Erasmus placement programme
To be eligible, the student:
- has to find a placement abroad
- has to be registered as a student at one of the Universities participating in WiTec.
- should have completed at least one year of studies within higher education in Sweden.
- must not previously have received a placement grant through Erasmus or Leonardo da Vinci programme.
- must have agreed with a company or organization within one of the countries participating in Erasmus regarding a work placement for 3–10 months (EU institutions, organizations handling EU programmes and Swedish diplomatic representations are not included)
It must be possible for the placement to be transferred into credits or to be recognised (via Diploma Supplement) at one of the Universities in the WiTec-consortia.
Selection criteria
- The quality of the training position with reference to the student’s study programme and the future profession.
- The division of grants between the participating Universities and their academic schools/ study programmes.
- The aim is also to give priority to female students who are studying in fields (within Malmö University, the Royal Institute of Technology, the University of Borås and the University of Gothenburg are announcing funding for Erasmus placements abroad within Technology, Science or IT) that are strongly male-dominated.
